Thursday, Dec. 11: Julie is in Freeman Hospital in Joplin tonight. Been a rough week. After we participated in the Vespers services at First Christian Church in Monett on Sunday, Julie began to come down with flu-like symptoms overnight. Initially it was vomiting. By Tuesday there were heavy body aches, She managed to attend Ozark Festival Orchestra rehearsal on Tuesday night, but by Wednesday morning she hurt so badly she was unable to sleep and could barely walk. By Wednesday night she was no better and starting to become less lucid. Called her neurologist in Joplin, whom she was due to see today. Doctor suspected bad reaction to her anti-seizure meds. Julie was no better by morning and struggled greatly to get to the appointment, complaining of feeling terrible in ways she never experienced before. Doctor put her in the hospital and ran tests. So far nothing conclusive, other than her sodium is low. Running an EEG and blood work. Tonight she feels better, sounds a little more normal, still very tired and at least has some confidence she is where she can get help. More tests tomorrow. Drug reaction still sounds like the most likely suspect but really dont know. I have continued to work; cant really help her at hospital. Will visit tomorrow. Never saw Julie sick like this. Feel better with her in the hospital but dont like not having any answers. Keep us in your prayers.
