Thursday, December 11, 2014 Just past 2 am Chester Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the village of Chester. Upon arrival of Chester Car 1 he found a large barn converted into a residence with heavy fire visible. A 2nd alarm was requested which brought E-583 to the scene. The crew from E-583 assisted with placing a 2.5 line in operation. Crews were advised this would be an outside operation due to the volume of fire. A short time after E-583 arrived on scene T-579 was special called as an additional truck company. The truck arrived to fire through the roof of the entire building. The crew of T-579 stood fast for a while before the crew rotated through operating the bucket of Chester T-917. Both crews from Washingtonville remained on scene for over 2 hours.
