Thursday, December 4, 2014 “…brings forth out of his treasure things both old and new” –Matthew 12:35 Good Morning Heavenly Father, Family & Friends!! (*) Yesterday’s Discovered Treasure for Today: “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16 NLT). (*) Today’s Application: I read some years ago and stored it away in my “treasure chest of truths”, that, “Separation threatens human love, but man’s prolonged absence did not diminish God’s love” and “Sin threatens human love, but while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” Human realities teach us that repeated offenses destroys love, and therefore we often find it difficult to believe that God would still loves us with such a showing of disrespect over the years and with us not caring or concerned about His Presence in or around us. God’s love however recorded in our Bibles is immutable. Hebrews 6:18 bares this forth: “By two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God ever to prove false or deceive us, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge might have mighty indwelling strength and strong encouragement to grasp and hold fast the hope appointed for us and set before [us]” Amplified Bible). We are incapable of destroying His love. In fact, we cannot alter it one degree. It should be very gratifying to discover God does not change, His “gifts and his call are irrevocable” (Romans 11:29 NIV).Perhaps some find themselves this morning reminiscing over past experiences when God’s love was so very real and relevant, but in recent times have discovered it no longer is the situation. Often folk will wish they could go back and change the past. Although we cannot go back in time, we can go back to the Timeless One. God’s love for us was extended with full prior knowledge of our sins and failures, so it is the same today as yesterday. Christ said, “I’ve loved you the way my Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love. If you keep my commands, you’ll remain intimately at home in my love. That’s what I’ve done—kept my Father’s commands and made myself at home in his love” (John 15:9 The Message Bible). Receive this treasured truth in our lives today and walk it out by faith . . . it is of priceless value to our souls! 0;-)
