Thursday, January 15th Isaiah 11: 6 … “The wolf shall live - TopicsExpress

Thursday, January 15th Isaiah 11: 6 … “The wolf shall live with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the kid, the calf and the lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them.” Have you watched any of the videos on the Internet and/or on Facebook, where children are surprised by the unexpected return of either their mom or dad from an overseas deployment? I love watching them and have probably watched more than my share. The children hold nothing back, when they spot their mom or their dad they run to them with open arms. If there’s a mic nearby, you can hear them express their love and how much they have missed their parent. I’ve been thinking …. Wouldn’t it be nice if we greeted others with the same excitement? Well, maybe not running to them and jumping up in their arms. But let others we meet, let them know we are happy to see them. Let them know that they matter to us. At the very least, greet them with a smile! Somewhere during the time of growing up, we’ve subdued some of our excitement and with it, our feelings. I’ve been reading the verse from Isaiah, above, and am seeing it another way. If we truly learned from children, if we truly let others know that we are happy to see them, that we care; well wouldn’t the world be a better place. Just maybe, might there not only be more harmony in our relationships but I’m thinking (hoping/praying) that this harmony might spill over into the world. And then differences would slowly disappear, differences that probably don’t matter in the first place. I’m ready to give it a try. Want to join me? Jesus, only in our world is there a difference between the lion and the wolf, the leopard and the kid. In your world all your created beings live in harmony with one another. We are missing that in our world and in our lives. Help us, use us to begin showing others that they matter to us and we are not only glad to see them but pleased to have them in our lives. AMEN Blessings of Expressed Feelings! PS
