The winter Semi-Formal scheduled for Saturday, January 25th has been cancelled. Student council apologizes for any inconvenience this caused for anyone who made preparations. MEETINGS DAY TO DAY INFO!! NHS students and probationary NHS students in need of community service hours. The City of Vassar is asking for help with the Chill on the Hill which is scheduled for Saturday, February 1st. They are looking for students who can help on the sledding hill to face painters for the little kids, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you would be interested and need community service hours see Mr. Wojno. Attention Youth in Government Students: If you plan to attend the Youth in Government Spring Conference, your final payment is due on or before Wednesday, Jan. 29th. A list of how much you owe is posted outside Mr. Bakers room. This payment is to be given to Mr. Baker. Also, next week there are four home basketball games Tuesday - Friday. See Brooke Rupprecht to sign up. If you are unable to work your shift, its your responsibility to get someone to fill in for you. If you purchased 2 Friday night and 2 Saturday night performance cds of the Wizard of Oz and did not put your name on the envelope, please stop by the office to claim your cds Tryouts for the spring play will take place in the auditorium on Monday, January 27th at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, January 29th at 3:30 p.m. You don’t need to be present at both tryouts to be given a part in the play. The annual Vassar Variety High School Show (Mock Rock) is back on once again this year. You can sing, dance, lip sing, Saturday night live skits, group acts, and solos. If you have any questions you can ask the SADD President Katie Kollman or the Vice President Rose Garcia. All the money we earn goes to charity and this year’s Junior & Senior Prom T-shirts. So come sign up outside the office. The last day to sign up is January 31. Bus will leave at 4:00. Girls JV & Varsity Harbor Beach basketball game is rescheduled for Feb 21st @ Harbor Beach. Bus will leave at 4:00 VARSITY Vassar: 23 USA: 36 Scoring Leaders: Eli Harper led Vassar with 10 points. Rebounding Leaders: Eli Harper led with 10 rebounds. Plus/Minus Leaders: Colton Fabbro had 2 assists, 2 deflections, 1 block and 1 steal. JV Vassar: 38 USA: 32 Scoring Leaders: Evan Wilcox led all scorers with 17 points. Rebounding Leaders: Evan Wilcox had 11 rebounds. Plus/Minus Leaders: Zach Shepherd had 3 blocks, 3 steals, 2 assists and 1 deflection; Rob Atwood had 5 steals. Varsity wrestling traveled to Marlette last night for two close matches. Beating Marlette with the score Vassar 39-Marlette 38 and Vassar 41-Mayville 36. Double winners for the night were Nick Baker, Kane Millikin, Cyle Lesko, and Todd Noblin. Keep up with the team work.
