Decadent Chocolate Hazelnut Tart By Shannon Donnelly Daily News Society Editor Who says Palm Beach women – or in this case, former Palm Beach women — don’t cook? Marie Bruno, who with husband Al was a longtime resident of North Lake Way before they upped and moved to Lake Oconee in Georgia, is a finalist in the Pillsbury Bake-Off. That’s right, a finalist. Her Decadent Chocolate Hazelnut Tart – pretty much our four favorite words in all of human communication — is a finalist in the Simple Sweets and Starters category. This year, in an effort to encourage simpler recipes, submissions were limited to seven or fewer ingredients and must take 30 minutes or less to prepare, not including baking or cooling time. A special rule put in place for Palm Beach contestants specifies that preparation must be done “without the assistance of any household staff, paid or otherwise.” OK, we totally made that part up. Right down to the quotation marks. The Bake-Off finals will be Nov. 10-12 at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
