Thursday May 15, 2017 (day 128) Jay did not have a great night.....was up lots. He was pretty exhausted all day, sleeping on and off.....active sleeping I might add. Lol. My poor boy. Occupational therapy was in this morning. They had Jay pull himself up at the side of the bed and then sit at the edge. He did really well with his balance! He sat by himself for a bit, then had to lay back down while waiting for the other therapist to come help. He sat back up when she arrived and they had him put on his little hospital booties by himself. It took him a bit, he had to pull his leg up and rest his ankle on his opposite knee, but he got them pretty much on by himself. They decided to work on standing up and then holding the stand for a bit. He did a total of 6 stands. He was a little wobbly but didnt do too badly. We was a tired boy afterwards though! Haha. They are trying to get him not to just flop backwards onto the bed.....but to use his hand to reach back to find where he is going to sit. It will take some practise. They also mentioned that they may look at getting Jay a wheelchair without the tilt factor on it. They are lighter and he might be able to manoeuvre it on his own with his arms. Would be cool to see him wheeling up and down the corridors! Lol Kaela Chrystina Mavretic and her Mom Jennifer Mavretic stopped in for a visit. I know I say it every time, but you would never think that this tiny, feisty girl had undergone a double lung transplant on February 28/14 and a liver transplant 8 years ago! Unbelievable!! She is so inspirational.....the sacrifices her and her family has had to make and they are still so upbeat and positive. Believe me it is hard to do, and they do it with such class! We are going to miss you guys! Jays Aunt Linda stopped by again for the afternoon. Thats 2 days in a row she has gotten to see Jay walk.....Opps....Im getting a little ahead of myself...lol. We had a nice visit and Cathy and Linda went for lunch. It was pouring rain most of the day, so a good day to sit and chitchat! Jay wore his moon boots for a half hour this morning. They seem to be helping a bit. Physio came in around 2pm to take Jay for a walk. Sitting up on the side of the bed he was swaying and falling over a bit. I thought the walk might be questionable, but he walked almost as far as yesterday and when Gary totalled, it was 45 meters.....so I guess I was wrong yesterday when I said he went 40 meters. Lol. Whatever the distance, he rocked it!! So proud of him. When we were close to the end, Jays nurse came to say that he was scheduled for his abdominal X-ray. Back to the room we went.....once he had walked around the corner that is!!! Lol 😉. Jay was saying to Gary that today he had to stop not because of the stomach pain, or the neurosis pain in his feet.....but because he was genuinely tired. So awesome to hear! ❤️ Jay lucked out and he did not have to go down for the X-ray.....instead they brought a portable machine to him! Someone is spoiled!!! Lol. We are waiting for the results of the X-ray to determine the Go Lytely situation. Fingers, and maybe legs crossed! Bahaha. No news yet on the X-ray results. Im sure we will find out bright and early in the morning. Heres to hoping that Jay is cleaned out, he will be able to exercise and walk, and that he can begin the next chapter of his story beginning tomorrow. ❤️ Hugs, xo TYD
