Hey NIU, I go to an all boys school and in Year 8. A group of other boys have picked on me calling me all sorts of names, say that Im gay and always bump into me on purpose. This only started at the end of last year and I dont know why. I only really had one friend last year and now he doesnt hang out with me because those boys used to tease us both saying we were gay. Now they leave him alone because he doesnt even talk to me anymore. I feel sad everyday and cry at lunchtime on the field away from everyone. I hate going to school because of this. My mum had to come to school a few weeks ago to pay some fees and those boys saw her. She is overweight, and now theyve started saying horrible things about her. Theyve nicknamed her and say it in class and laugh and the teacher has no idea that theyre teasing me. I ended up crying and running out of class and now they tease me about that. Ive never been in a fight before but them teasing my mum really makes me angry inside and Im ready to flip. I wish everyday that they would just leave me alone. Ive told my mum and she has told me to be the better person and ignore them. She spoke with the Dean but nothing has changed. I love my mum and feel I am ready to fight and show them it has to stop now. I feel like Ive got nothing more to lose. How do you stop bullies? I know fighting is wrong but what else can I do? I wish I had an older brother to teach these punks a lesson. Can someone tell me what to do please? They dont know me or my mum. I dont have a dad. Shes been both in my life and I cant take them teasing her anymore. B.T.
