Thursday, November 6, 2014 “…brings forth out of his treasure things both old and new” –Matthew 12:35 Good Morning Heavenly Father, Family & Friends!! (*) Yesterday’s Discovered Treasure for Today: Asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, [Jesus] replied to them by saying, “The kingdom of God does not come with signs to be observed or with visible display, nor will people say, Look! Here [it is]! or, See, [it is] there! For behold, the kingdom of God is within you [in your hearts] and among you [surrounding you] (Luke 17:20-21 Amplified Bible). (*) Today’s Application: A treasured kingdom, standing on its own for thousands of years has been uncovered and is before us this morning, The Kingdom of God! The Lord Jesus Christ is found frequently mentioning and describing it, and yet a vast many have of us has no a clear understanding whatsoever this Kingdom is about. First of all, this Kingdom of God has a sovereign ruler, Jesus Christ Himself. Secondly, the Kingdom has citizenship. There are no natural born citizens of this Kingdom; its citizenship is a matter of personal choice. Thirdly, the Kingdom operates by laws that its citizens choose to submit to and live by. Two parables of Jesus, found in Matthew 13:44-46, give us great insight into God’s Kingdom: “The kingdom of heaven is like something precious buried in a field, which a man found and hid again; then in his joy he goes and sells all he has and buys that field. Again the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is a dealer in search of fine and precious pearls, who, on finding a single pearl of great price, went and sold all he had and bought it.” From this discovery we uncover the following golden truths: 1) Only those who find the Kingdom are truly wealthy. Romans 10:12 says God “generously bestows His riches upon all who call upon Him [in faith].” Knowing Jesus Christ and having Him as our Leader/Savior is having riches that endure! 2) The Kingdom is costly. The price of belonging is everything we are. In both parables the men sold all their possessions to gain this very valued possession, the Kingdom of God. Surely Gods Treasured Kingdom is worth the total investment of our lives right this very day and each day forward until He calls us heavenward! 0;-)
