Thursday, October 9th - Busy Day!! - Remember Black Out Friday! Physical Science: calculated the protons, neutrons, and electrons for various elements, started study guide for our test over Atoms on Tuesday, the 14th, talked about Mendeleev organizing the Periodic Table, worked on designing and organizing a store ( simulating Mendeleevs task of organizing elements), started Atoms and Elements Question WS #2. Biology: talked about terms: manipulated/independent variable and responding/dependent variables, discussed Red Wriggler worms and reviewed observations of worms, formulating questions and a hypothesis using one of the questions, Began reading about Spontaneous Generation and Biogenesis, learned about the experiments of Van Helmont and Francisco Redi. Advanced Biology: reviewed forms of reproduction in fish defining oviparous, viviparous, and ovoviviparous, started lab perch lab - will finish on Friday. Chemistry: watched part of NOVAs Hunting the Elements (see video clip below), checked to see if the ashes of Coca-Cola burned easily, worked on yellow Physical/Chemical Change WS, study for 10 compounds test on by Friday, work on chapter 2 reading and note taking as homework - due next week. youtu.be/-bENV1arP0g
