Thursday Prayer Lord God, you have loved us since creation; creating us in your own image & breathing life into us. Though we disobeyed you in the garden of Eden and listened to the serpent, you did not give up on us. The children of Israel turned their backs on you and worshipped idols, but even during your anger ;your chosen servant Moses reminded you of the covenant you had made with our fore father Abraham, and again you forgave us. Heavenly Father, you brought your son Jesus Christ that we may receive salvation . The sacrifice, the pain and the passion to save us should not go in vain. Yet we forget and put our priorities to worldly things. We boast in our own personal successes and compete amongst ourselves forgetting that there is someone up there who gives us gifts and life. Lord God, as we pray today give us the strength and courage to turn away from our sins and repent. We want to be born again and lead a life in the righteous. Baba vedu veKudenga,Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs; that comes through accepting our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Sovereign Lord, you have always encouraged us to repent and live, as you take no pleasure in the death of anyone of your children. Help us Lord to trust and obey, as it is the only way to be happy in Jesus. Amen . (Prayers based on Jonah 2:8 & Ezekiel 18:32)
