Thursday: cooking groundnut soup, jallaf rice, cassava leaf sauce and rice. Friday, drove to Collinsville, IL to meet up with the Sierra Leone Refugee All-Stars and feed them African food! Great to meet up with the band once again (feeding them for the 4th time). They recognized me and remembered me by name! They loved the food! Took Reuben, Ashade, and others to Cahokia Mounds World Heritage Site (capital of the Mississippian Native American Culture), think they liked it :) Then on to the Gramophone in St. Louis for a great night of music. The intro band Ground Flow Fusion was great and even joined the Refugees on stage for a song. Hung out downstairs with the band before they went on, and Reuben acknowledged me to the crowd during the set. Got a cd and poster signed by the band. Long drive home and in by 3 am.
