Thursday on PHYLLIS (Dont Be Fooled By Her Rocks): Mom: (Name withheld) called me up the other day and asked me if I knew what a significant other was.. ...I almost drive off the road at this statement.... Me: Huh? Who called? What? Did you just say significant other? Mom: Yes, Chad Anthony, I did. Me: Do you know what that means? Mom: You know what? Im so tired of everyone thinking Im stupid. Your brother, your father. ....I cut her off... Me: Mom. Thats not what Im saying. Im just surprised. Did she call you up because she didnt think you knew? Mom: I told her, Have you met my son? Of course I know what it is. Me: Im sure you meant it as a compliment when you told her. Mom: Im not some old fuddy duddy. To make a long story short, I saw a picture of this girl and her significant other from their wedding. She looked very pretty. Or handsome. Oh, I dont know. She was wearing a suit. With some tie or some other something. And the other girl was wearing a dress and pearls. Me: Did they get married in Lubbock? Mom: I dont know. What was the name of your friend that wore the beautiful make-up? Me: In high school? Mom: No, the boy you went to Columbia with. He could have helped me with mine.
