Thursday update: This morning we started our day by playing freely outside. We enjoyed the nice morning with our friends from Tall Giraffes. Together we built a big train tracks and took turns at riding our trains on the tracks. Some of our little friends preferred to go on the see saw and the slide. Lots of climbing going on... We later took our friends to our culture room and chose one of our favourite books. The eductaor red the book on Dirty Bertie where Bertie has lots of bad habits. We talked about all the bad habits Bertie had and what should we do to stop it. We talked about picking food off the floor. One of the little girls told me that we only eat food from the shop and not pick up from the floor. We all agreed food off the floor is yacky and then we thought about how we need to dispose of all dirty food....the bin. Bertie also wipes his nose with his clothes. And we discussed about how we need to use a tissue to wipe our nose and if we cant find one, we need to ask the educator. We throw the tissue in the bin afterwards. We went through lots of things Bertie does like not using the toilet, throwing toys around, ..... We reminded the children that we need to foloow simple rules and limits at daycare. No running inside, we use our inside voice, no pushing, we take turns, we share our toys, we use our words..... In the afternoon, we made some masks and we ech chose different colours. We remembered to label each of the colour we are using. We had so mush fun measuring the length of string we will need for the mask. Later in the afternoon, we went over for play at Tall Giraffes and met our friends from Stomping Elephant. A great day!
