Thursdays Weather Forecast - Sizzling south but change is on the way.. Summary A decaying weather front will bring cloudy conditions with patchy rain at times across parts of North Wales and Northern England. The best conditions will be across the South, where very warm temperatures are expected with maximums perhaps reaching 26c in or around the London area. Cooler further North with variable amounts of cloud with showers in the West, some sunny spells. Forecast The southern half of Britain will start the day with clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine, which will allow temperatures to rise very quickly. Temperatures widely reaching the 20c mark with maximums of; 21-24c across East Anglia and Southern Lincolnshire, central Southern England, the Midlands and South West England with the highest maximums of 24-26c across the South East. Towards the afternoon there is a slight risk of one or two showers developing, particularly around the Bristol channel and the West Midlands, although I must emphasise the risk is relatively low. Across the Northern half of Britain it will be slightly cooler with variable amounts of cloud throughout the day. As the decaying system clears, some brighter spells and showers will follow in behind with some areas missing the showers altogether. Temperatures generally ranging from 14-18c, warmer across Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire as the day progresses with afternoon maximums of 20-21c. The change comes on Friday and into the weekend as we see weather systems slide in from the Atlantic bringing spells of wet weather. The wet weather will initially be across the Western isles, Scotland and Western coasts. The East and South East will hold on to the settled weather with another very warm day expected on Friday, however this wont last as the unsettled conditions will reach all areas over the weekend in the form of showers and longer spells of rain and.... a risk of thundery downpours developing. Pollen count: Very high across the Southern half of Britain and high values across the Northern half, slightly lower values across the far North of Scotland with medium values expected here. Whatever the weather, have a great Thursday. Lewis
