Thus Spoke Thunderfart I dont project my views to make friends or to win popularity contests. I dont LIKE what Im saying either, just as I dont LIKE what it implies. But not liking it doesnt make it any less real. But what I cant do, is delude myself into a sense of neo-liberal smugness of non-violent conflict resolution, and watch the world die as the only people who recognize a need for change are only willing to hold hands during candle light vigils, chant inspirational slogans and organize nothing more substantial than self-congratulatory circle-jerks. Negotiating with the destroyers is analogous to bringing a knife to a gun fight. You will lose. One last thing... Have you ever considered that this beautiful idealism of non-violent conflict resolution, although not originated, but certainly usurped by the system is one of the systems tools of subduing the population, so as to keep it docile and prevent popular revolt? Theyve repackaged it and sold it like any other commodity, and the masses bought it. There is something that supersedes the basic human right to life, liberty and all that other bullshit. The responsible stewardship of the planet, its ecosystems and natural resources is an obligation which trumps human rights. The price for neglecting and/or abusing this obligation MUST BE nothing short of forfeiture of the right to life. Should you wish to call me an extremist, I will accept that as a compliment.
