Thus far I havent commented on the closing of NARH. But now it is time. I have had the pleasure of working with to name a few Jo Anne La Forest, Deb Wood, Debbie Begiebing,Darlene Blanchette, and to have been friends with Diane LaValley for most of my life. I want to say I have never had the pleasure of knowing more dedicated and caring nurses in my life. I would like to thank them all of the kind and caring treatment received by my family members in their times of death and of recovery from surgical procedures. When my favorite Uncle Franny suffered a stroke I was mortified. But I walked into that unit and found Deb Wood at his bedside I knew he couldnt be in better hands. When my precious Grandsons were born, Diane LaValley was at my daughters side and I was instantly at ease. I have worked with David Blanchette and Joy L Fairneny LaForest and the incomparable Cheryl Wellington in my nursing career as Hospice nurses they are the cream of the crop. This is a horrible event to hit my hometown of North Adams as well as the surrounding communities which they have served for many years. The closing of this hospital will cripple this area and place its citizens in absolute danger with regard to emergent care required to stabilize and save the live of accident victims, cardiac patients. I just cant fathom the impact this will have. Take the money back from Mass Moca and give it to the hospital!!!!!! Who wants to go to see a museum located in a ghost town with no medical access in the event of a disaster. WISE UP!!!!!!!
