Thx for all of the good thoughts, prayers, etc for Jacks surgery today. Good news and bad news. I brought him home about an hour ago, have him drugged up and iced down. LOL. Surgery went well but damage to the ruptured muscle was significant. He will be in the brace from his ass to his ankle for six weeks 24/7 and then six weeks of PT. He is also bandanged from the tips of his toes to his hip as well until Monday.. Is able to walk with the cane. He wont be restricted to being at home after a couple of weeks. Difficulty is getting into the car so I push him into the back seat of the SUV with his leg stretched how (just like driving Miss Daisy, except I dont have the appropriate uniform yet--Hawaiian shirts just dont get it). Our friend Terry Lavender suggested just tying him over the hood of the car like killing a deer and bringing it home. Jack thinks The Beverly Hillbillies vehicle with Granny Clampett riding in a rocking chair on top of the truck would work better. Will try both ways and let you know for future reference what works best. Figure we must keep our sense of humor and do what must be done.
