Thy kingdom come, we find this text in Matthew 6 verses 9 and 10. Thousands of times, is pronounced this text, lets see, what tells us this text, Our Father which art in heaven , Hollowed be thy name . Thy kingdome come . Thy will be done in earth , as it is in heaven . The question, then, about which kingdom we doing here? The text itself does not give us an answer immediately, will it mean an earthly kingdom, or perhaps the millennium, or at first the Kingdom of God, in general, in addition to whether it will be in Heaven, or the earth, and will last for a thousand years, or only three? In the Kingdom of God, His law reigns and dominates His will. It is logical, then, that the prayer continues with these words : Thy will be done in earth , as it is in heaven . And its also the answer to the question, which kingdom, is meant. It is the kingdom of God, both in heaven and on earth. It is the kingdom where reigns, Gods righteousness, and where applicable, his will, according to Romans 14, verse 17, For the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink ; but righteousness , and peace , and joy in the holy Ghost . The Kingdom of God is everywhere, which is also present, the Holy Spirit, and where it is clear to see, peace, joy and righteousness of God. With these words of the Our Father, when we pray, Thy kingdom come! We actually pray to the dominion of God over us. That is Gods dominion over our lives, and also Gods dominion over heaven and earth, actually, Gods dominion over all creation. Its actually a petition to restore the original paradisiacal state. We pray for the Kingdom of God, and thus simultaneously pointing out the injustice, all the evil and the wicked on earth. Who, pray this prayer, conscious and sincere, therefore, endorsed the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will come back to form visible, His Kingdom. The prayer confirms the redemption (the way of salvation) and believes in eliminating the separation between God and man, and thus the recovery of their relationship. Here, we can think of the word which the Lord Jesus gave to Nicodemus : Verily , Verily , I say unto thee , Except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God , John 3 verse 3 . The new birth is the condition, to see the Kingdom of God, and to partake of, both on earth and in heaven, both now and later. The pray, (is) longing for eternal communion with the holy God, and he knows the sinless glory where shall be no more injustice. That is the Kingdom of God in heaven, where reign, His will, and His righteousness. The Our Father is well understood, a matter of the heart, and a profession of faith in one. It starts with a wonderful personal, Our Father, and continues with the prayer, Thy kingdom come. With this petition, we can also think of the millennial kingdom, when the Lord Jesus returns in power and glory to establish His Kingdom here on earth - in the midst of His people Israel. In addition, we also have in mind, the consummation, when the redeemed will be with the Lord forever , 2 Peter 3 vers 13 , Nevertheless we , according to his promise , look for new heavens and a new earth , wherein dwelleth righteousness . Revelation 21 verse 1 , And I saw a new heaven , and a new earth . That is what we desire. We still long for the righteousness of God, and the communion with Him. Why we rejoice otherwise, to a new heaven and a new earth? Not because the mountains are higher, nicer weather, and faster cars, but because there perfectly, reflected the righteousness of God. Tomorrow , part 2 of His Kingdom .
