Tia goes to Big School My 5 year old Tia just started big school this week. From not attending school ever apart from a short nursery stint 2 years ago, she has essentially spent her last 5 years with me, just playing. Tia has never been to ANY enrichment class (not even piano lessons!!) and the only thing ever taught to her was Jolly Phonics last year in preparation for her to attend big school as the school had an entrance assessment. Honestly, I dont even know if Tia can count or where she is in her writing and I know she can just about string some 3 letter words together. But thats it. Her whole 5 years prior to school has been following me around or playing with whatever she finds around the house by herself at home or with her sister. Heck, I never even brought her to playgroups *gasp!!* But guess what? She is so ready for big school!!! Shes been asking me everyday if she will go to school tomorrow, and if she will be taking the school bus, and repeats a million times that she just LOVVVVVVVESSSS school. She may be far behind in reading, writing and counting from the other kids whove been to school, but really, I would not have done it any other way. Tia is so ready for school, and when youre ready, youre just ready. Im so proud of my little Chilli Padi.
