Though most people think Bradford lost its most interesting buildings in the 1960s the city still has a variety of constructions which give clues to its growth and development. By looking at old maps and plans the original small settlement of the early middle ages can be visualised. The hidden old buildings in the centre and suburbs bring its history and growth to life. Wednesday 3rd September Bronte Influences The Bronte family produced some of our county’s best loved literature. Father, son and daughters were greatly influenced by their surroundings, local legends, people they met, places they visited and national/international events. All of them visited, at some time in their lives, places far away from Haworth. Their books are based on the people they met, the places they stayed and the stories they heard.
