Tie One On, started by Larry Burns at The University of Toledo, - TopicsExpress

Tie One On, started by Larry Burns at The University of Toledo, was inspired by the Coaches vs. Cancer effort. Instead of tennis shoes, UT Men’s Basketball Coach Tod Kowalczyk and his coaching staff wear bow ties to support the fight against cancer. Participants donate $100, UT students $20, and receive a bow tie, ticket to the UT mens basketball game and a pre-game bow tying reception.. Over $40,000 has been raised in the first three years in support of cancer care, awareness and outreach. UT partners with Bow Tie Cause and Dhani Jones on the ties. The event recently received national coverage when Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports wore the UT bow tie during Game 3 of the 2012 World Series in Detroit. Yark Automotive Group is proud to support the Tie One On event each year! Click the link below to learn more about this great cause.
