Tiger temple is home to tiger orphans and other animals that were - TopicsExpress

Tiger temple is home to tiger orphans and other animals that were left at the temple for the monks to take care. It is now the home of 130++ tigers, largely due to breeding in captivity. The tigers are fed boiled chicken (no red meat) and they are now only allowed to meet visitors in the afternoon. Tigers sleep 12-18 hours a day and thats why they are sleepy in the afternoon (volunteers vouched that the tigers are not drugged). Many volunteers from overseas work in the temple. The ticket price of 600 baht is only enough to feed one tiger for one day. So, the temple funds the caring for the tigers and all the other animals (bears, buffaloes, wild boars, porcupine et al) from admission fee solely. So, pls drop by the tiger temple. Its 2 hours from Bangkok in Kanchanaburi. Most hotels can make arrangements to visit. Your visit will help feed the tigers.
