Tikei has been at school for six months now. When he started I offered to take a half hour Māori lesson with the class. His teacher was more than happy about my offer. Tikeis teacher is an English wahine and she has been brilliant. She has been learning the reo and tikanga along with the kids and is doing a fantastic job using the reo in class. The kids respond to her naturally too. Its not always easy for her to get her tongue around kupu, but she persists and gets it locked down. Im very thankful to this wonderful open minded wahine as my sons kaiako.
