Till yesterday, I was in support of Statue of Unity tourism project. But after giving it a lot of thought, I have changed my mind now. Structures like Eiffiel tower, Statue of Liberty, Buddha Statue and several other art forms should be boycotted because too much of money is spent on them while half the world is under poverty. Instead of these token symbols, we could have used that money for something better. I think we should get rid of musicians as well because it is just a waste of time. Get rid of art & dance schools as well. How can dance feed poor? Get rid of space programmes like NASA, ISRO etc. How does it matter whether we find water on moon when we do not have drinking water facilities on Earth itself? Get rid of cellphones. Apple, Motorola, Nokia are using child labor in China to manufacture their cellphones. Do you want to use a phone which was assembled by a child in inhumane conditions in China? We must get rid of bullet trains & airplanes as well because they are very expensive to build and maintain. That same money could be used for something better. We must get rid of Volvo buses and instead introduce 3 normal buses for the same cost of 1 Volvo bus. Why did we not think of these things before? We can get rid of more than 99% of the things around us and use that for something better. Now I feel like I have attained enlightenment.
