Tim Norman Jay 1/9/1954 - 12/06/2014 Visitation Friday 2 to 8 pm Rivertown Chapel Saturday 4 to 5 pm at Westminster Church Timothy Norman Jay Pinconning, Michigan Timothy Norman Jay, 60 years old, died December 6, 2014, on the campus of his beloved University of Michigan due to complications from a bone marrow transplant for myleodysplastic syndrome. Tim fought valiantly under the caring and talented medical staff at MidMichigan Health and U of M Medical Center but ultimately passed peacefully with his family by his side. Tim was born January 9, 1954 in Bay City, Michigan to Norman and Rosemary Jay. He graduated from Bay City Central High where he was Student Body President. Tim went on to the University of Michigan and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in both English Literature and Political Science in 1976. After graduation, Tim returned to Pinconning, MI and lived on the family farm with his loving wife of 30 years, Ann. Tim is survived by his wife, and his two daughters, Laura (Milwaukee, WI) and Jayne (Chicago, IL). Tim is also survived by his two sisters, Mary Rose Davis (Carey) and Joanne Marshall (Michael), his father, Norman and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother. A farmer since childhood, Tim loved the land, was a successful farmer, and an accomplished businessman. He found joy in taking his family on annual vacations where he could be with his girls and spend quality time with the people he cared most about. Tim was a man of strong faith, a dedicated husband and father, a loving son, brother, uncle, and a true friend to all who were fortunate to have shared his friendship. He will be remembered for his contagious and unique laugh, his annual Christmas letter, and his frequent thoughtful and humorous postings on social media. We rest assured that he is free from pain and has been welcomed into heaven’s gates with open arms. Memorial Services will be held Saturday December 13, 2014 at 5 pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church at Midland & Wenona Sts., Bay City, Michigan with Pastor Matthew Schramm presiding with inurnment to follow. Family will greet friends on Friday at Rivertown Funeral Chapel, Spring & Huron, Kawkawlin, MI on Friday from2 to 8 pm and Saturday at the church from 4 pm until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider in lieu of flowers memorials to Bay Area Community Foundation Scholarships or Westminster Presbyterian Church.
