Sikhs in the Indian Army fought alongside Canadian battalions in Ypres and Neuve Chapelle, ten Sikhs were even part of Canada’s armed forces during the war. Minister Uppal was enthralled by the archive photography, the film footage and the voices of the prisoners of war that plays on the iPads in the gallery. He also took time out of his scheduled to speak to some of the team behind the exhibition.
