Time Warner Cable is offering CBS the chance to go ALA Cart with their channels. If accepted, this would mean CBS sets the price for each channel and Time Warner passes along the bill and the payments. Fine by me as a concept, but they really need to extend that concept for EVERY channel to make this work plus lower their base fee appropriately. Let the cable company charge $12/month (give or take) and pass through the bills. If you only want HBO, pay only for HBO, and so on. I have to wonder what their revenue streams will look like off season. No new programs? WHAM, canceled till they come back. I imagine that will encourage them to come up with more appealing stuff if they want the business or they can just starve.
