Time for a handy tip. To keep leeches alive, place them in a glass jar and place paper towels in it. Add water and the leeches and they will keep for a very long time. Keep in the refrigerator. You can also use an ice cream pail and add a large rock. Leeches need something to swim up against to remove the slime that forms on them. It also gives them a place to rest. Just water alone gets a slime ball and they get skinny from having to swim all the time. Mine keep for months. Its a money saver.
