Time for a little bit of housekeeping. Boring I know but it has to be done. I have invested quite a lot of money into a software program that notifies clients of their appointments that have been booked the day before. For the most part this system works great and we have had great feedback from you guys about it. However, we are still having what we call no shows Now I know I have raised this issue before and I know that everyone was in support of my concerns, however it seems that this year has started off with a bang and a steady stream of no shows. I totally understand that sometimes things come up that cant be helped and appointments have to be cancelled and I am most thankful to those of you who let us know as soon as you can. But please understand that when we book an appointment for you, whether it be for a 5 minute eyebrow wax, a quick kids cut or a 3 hour transformation, we are holding that space so that we dont get double booked and that our clients are seen as close to on time as possible. When people simply dont show up for appointments, it means that we have quite possibly turned down another client for that time spot to hold it for you. A 5 or 10 minute appointment may seem petty to most, but this is the way I make my living, and it is very frustrating that I have invested a lot of money into a system, and not raised my prices to cover it, yet people are still simply not showing up for appointments :-( So this year we are going to get a little tougher when it comes to appointments. If you DONT confirm your appointment via our SMS confirmation system, which simply requires you to reply with Yes, then your appointment WILL be cancelled, and more than likely given to another client. If you have any questions or want to move your appointment, this too can be done via the SMS system, to save you a phone call, simply reply to the message as you would any other. If you fail to show up to an appointment and dont let us know before hand, your next appointment will require a non-refundable deposit of 20%. I know this seems harsh, and I really dont want to do it, but it is either that, or I increase my prices across the board to cover the people who dont seem to think it matters. I am sorry if I seem like I am just having a sook about this, but imagine going to your job each day & having your boss say you arent getting paid your full wage! You would be furious! Im hoping that we have quite a bit of change when it comes to this problem, and that I dont have to implement it at all, and this message serves as warning enough.
