Time for another gratitude post . Number three. So cousin Joseph DiFilippi heres to you and all my cousins . I love each and every one of you. My childhood would not be the same hilarious, bratty, and annoying (to our Grandparents) fun without you all .A cousin , introduced me to my husband at my Dads birthday party. Yup, they were shipmates in the Navy . Thank you Bill, the match worked out . From summers in Bay Shore to dancing in the living room, failed attempts to teach me to drive a shift (more gas, more gas!!!)to telling me you need to shave your legs...just use your fathers razor( Rosie). What I love is now so much time passes ,even decades, before I see them ,and yet when I do its just like I saw them last Sunday at Bay.The same warm wonderful people. I still think about the ones who are gone and miss them. 2: I am thankful for the New York City public school system, Those teachers had 50 kids in each class and yet they managed to corral us and trot us all over New York. For the price of two subway tokens ( bring your own lunch) we were taken to museums, historic sites , parks, zoos, T.V. and Radio stations. Ebbets field ,theaters and one glorious time , the Schlitz brewery. They never lost a student. These were places our parents never thought to take us or were too tired to take us . Thank you public school teachers , you enriched my school days with great fun and gave us what could not be found in a book. 3:I am deeply, deeply grateful for makeup .From my first lipstick ( Tangee Kiss me Pink) I have BELIEVED!!! I believed that smearing red wax on my lips would make me beautiful, or putting purple powder on my eyelids would make me mysterious and alluring. Every advertisement is truthful, right? So thanks Estee Lauder, Max Factor, Mary Kay. Ill keep buying. ( last lipstick count was 52)
