Time for another update! Happy New Year! All good news here folks! We are now officially on TWO MONTHS!!! It may take you that long to read through this post, be warned! Some days it seems like one long day, and others seems like two years since November 4th. Most of you know by now Tony was transferred to a local physical therapy location to get some meat back on his bones a few weeks back and started the process of working, working, working his muscles! Most of you that know Tony know he doesnt like sitting still. Well, last week, he walked all the way down a hallway, ahead of schedule. Under fantastic care, they are working him like a horse, and though we had a minor scare last week and he was sent back to ICU with a fever, he is headed back most likely tomorrow to physical therapy. Thank God! His fighters spirit is now shining more than ever as he is hurdling obstacles that would give men 20 years younger trouble. Though he is still slated for several months and has a heck of a road to travel, no one is better suited for fighting through adversity like our man Tones! Got to sit with him for some time today and got some good laughs out of him. He is still working on the talking, swallowing, etc...so he has still asked for no visitors yet. Dont take it personally, some days I get there and he lets me know he just wants to relax and hed prefer to be alone. Its all part of this. But THANK YOU for everything, as there is still no doubt without all of your support he (and I) would not have been able to keep such a positive mindset. All of your Christmas cards and donations...thank you!!! He has read every one and appreciates them all. I cant wait until HE can make a post on here...get ready folks...wont be MUCH LONGER until you see TONY HIMSELF posting here. Wow...any guesses on what date that will be??? Whoever gets closest, Ill bring to one of Tony and my secret spots in the Spring... As you all know, our TONY PARTY and fundraiser is set for Sunday March 29th from 4-8. Jenn has been busting her butt to set this all up at a time most convenient to all despite the fishing show season, so I hope that most of you can make it. It will be an AMAZING TIME. Whether youre going to bid on something, are donating at all, doesnt matter - just plan to be there. Just to be in the same room with hundreds of people that were all here from the beginning will be amazing. So here we are...time to organize what were going to be bidding and raffling on!!! Jenn has taken the brunt of the work (what else is new???!) and has organized the location, and is working on her shtick which is food and all the magic that goes with that...I am going to be heading up the donations and items themselves. I am going to keep a google spreadsheet to keep track of it all which I will share with everyone once some things are added so you can all see what is going on. AT THIS TIME I AM ASKING EVERYONE THAT IS GOING TO DONATE ANYTHING to email me at antonstetzko@gmail with the following: Your Name, your mailing address, your phone #, what you are donating, and if you want, the perceived value of the item or items. We need to get this all in order way ahead of time so I can get it all organized. If you are a business owner, like me, donate your time, your services, anything. I am a computer doctor so I will be donating my time via several packages. For example, I will offer remote computer support (since so many people are far away) at the tune of $100 value...etc etc... If you are self-employed, consider donating a gift certificate. If you are an artist, please consider donating some art. If you a fishing guru or rep of a fishing company, please consider donating some tackle. Anything from one plug to Jeff Smith and Bruce Demoranvilles generous reel donations is great...so what if its only worth $5 on a plug, just do it! It may catch the next Bertha! This Christmas was very bittersweet as a friend of mine Chris Hill passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Christmas morning/Eve at the young age of 35. He was a tremendous person and man of the church that gave ALL of his spare time to youth groups and his friends families. We cannot find reason in this world, but we can appreciate what we have every day. Hill taught me that, so here I am, appreciating. Tomorrow is promised to no one, including Tony, so lets all pull together for the final run here. We are on track for my promise in November that he would be fishing the Spring run. PLEASE send me information at antonstetzko@gmail regarding your donations!!! I will pick up if local or you can mail etc...Thanks a million and SEE YOU IN MARCH!!! Danya PS: Can you tell I got a new keyboard for Christmas? Sorry for the long post...but Im happy to have so much to post. So Im not sorry.
