Time for another update, its May 27th and Ive been out of the hospital for a month and 4 days. This week my husband took me to his job site and I left the cane in the truck on purpose. I walked into the sales center on my own two legs and no aids. I think I scared my husband but I did it. Thats not all, our elevators are not working, so Ive had to go up and down for flights of stairs sometimes 3 x in a day. My calfs feel it but not in an sps way, just like I was out of shape lol, I would say I am. Well heres the big news, we went to the mall when it wasnt busy , went into the Hudson Bay store and I went on the escalator! It was easier going up than down. BUT I didnt freeze up, I was normal, I kept saying to myself one foot in front of the other then we did it again at the hospital today and it was a piece of cake. So for me I think Ill be able to go out on my own within a few months, right now ? I still have cling ons lol making sure Im okay and I am. The doctor said I was doing very well, I havent lost any weight and my cheeks are starting to fill in. I learnt today that I will have to take one pill for the rest of my life called Acyclovir 800mg, right now I take this three times a day, later it will go to once a day. The reason for taking it is because I will never be able have the shingles shot. The doctor explained how one person had decided she didnt need it any more or want to take it and within two weeks she had shingles, so if I have to take a pill no big deal, I would prefer never to get the shingles. My numbers are all good, next time Ill write them down. I feel good. I enjoy walking, as some of the medication is light sensitive I have to wait until after 4 pm. Thats okay, I wait for Al to get home, however I think Im getting a great work out using the stairs.
