Time for me to vent on here boys and girls. Before I do, I want to make 2 things very clear. 1> I am far from being a perfect parent 2> This is how I feel - you dont have to agree Since our daughter first breathed air she has been my world. The most pure and beautiful gift from God I could ever be blessed with. I spent many hours just watching her sleep and worrying about how to protect her and keep her healthy. I never felt love for anything like her - and adore every hair on her head. We moved back home to the CSRA a couple years ago and now family members will keep her overnight so Kim and I can have a night to ourselves. Even though this is family - I still cant wait to get her the next day because I miss her. Some may say that is because I am not home much, but thats not it. Even when I came home every night and we lived in KC all together Camille Bishop lived next door. Madison would spend one night and I couldnt wait to see her little face the next day even though she was right beside us. My daughter has made some new friends here and the kids are great. We love them very much and they are always welcome in our home. We take them to church and try to be a positive influence to them. What blows my mind is how often the parents have to be contacted about going home! And in some cases, the parents are put out by having to either come get them, or post pone partying to come home and play parent. We seldom even get a call from some when keeping the child from Friday to Sunday asking how they are. I just dont get it. Are we the weird ones? Is this where everyone is at now with parenting? And if we say something that ticks off the parent(s) we may not get to have the child over again. In most cases we are the only avenue for them to go to church or ever hear of God. I really dont understand.
