Time for more Q&A with T.K. Leigh! Q: How to you get into writing mode? A: Honestly, I dont force myself into writing mode. If Im not feeling it, I dont write. I do something else... research, sign bookmarks. I never set deadlines for myself. I have rough ideas of when I want to get my books out there... In fact, I have a publication schedule taking me into 2019, which may actually stretch into 2020. LOL. I see so many authors post how theyre still writing their book a week before its set to publish. Thats not me, and that will NEVER be me. I write when the mood strikes. Then, I probably do about 20 read-throughs of my books before I even hand it off to my Betas. I give them as polished a copy as possible so that any comments and suggestions they have are valuable and not something I could have seen on my own. I will never waste their time like that. Then once I get my manuscript back from my betas, I do a few more read throughs before I send it to my editor. Once I get the draft back from my editor, thats when I set a release date. And its typically about 2 months after getting it back from my editor - which gives me PLENTY of time to perfect it and for my editor to do one last read-through. I dont rush the process, as you see so many authors do. So, long story short, I dont force myself to get into writing mode because if I did, anything I wrote would be complete crap. :-)
