Time is winding down, Please Donate if you can. GETTING THIS NEW ALBUM RECORDED MEANS MORE TO ME THAN I CAN EXPRESS...Please do me a favor, and at least READ BELOW. My name is Sheldon Vance, I am a 33 year old punk rocker/singer-songwriter living in Charleston, WV. The reason Ive started this campaign is to fund the recording of my New CD Hills, Pills, and Unpaid Bills. I know the title may be humorous to some, confusing to others, but in reality the title was meant to reflect the poverty and desperation of the area I grew up in, Logan, WV. The songs as well are reflections of my experiences, and the experiences Ive seen with others. Its about trying to escape the poverty, hopelessness, depression, and drug addiction rampant in my home town. I have an extremely talented individual by the name of Corey Hensley, who has graciously offered to produce/record the new album. Corey plays in the phenomenal bluegrass group Monroeville based out of Tennessee. If youve ever been to Ole Smoky Distillery in Gatlinburg, TN, theres a really good chance youve heard Monroeville play. What do I need to record and get this CD out there? Im seeking $700 to cover both recording and manufacture of the CD, as well as making a small amount of merchandise to go along with the album release. Im trying to build funds to cover three things: 1. Recording costs - $500 of the total will go towards the cost of actually going into the studio, and recording the songs. This will afford me 2 days of studio time, and Im hoping to get at least 10 songs recorded. 2. Manufacturing the CDs - $100 will go to making the 1st batch of CDs, and I am going to HAND-MAKE EACH CD. Im doing this in order to keep the overall cost down, and realize my dream in a more cost effective fashion. I would love to have the things pressed at an actual facility, but that would drive the cost way up. The covers and booklets will be printed out at Staples, then cut, folded. Each CD will be burned and labeled, then all components assembled and shrink wrapped by hand. 3. Merchandise - $100 will go towards getting some simple merchandise made to go along with the album release. Im keeping it simple, stickers, buttons, some posters, and a few other odds and ends if money allows for it. Thats it! But what if my campaign does well, and I raise beyond my goal? Any money that I raise beyond the initial goal of $700, will go to making the CD and the release even better. With the recording, a little extra money might allow me another half-day or day in the studio to make the songs better. Also, depending on how much extra is raised, I may get more, or better merchandise made up to UPGRADE the perks a little. Color posters, additional items, maybe even t-shirts. To honor the fact that you guys gave to me, I will try to give back to you as much as possible. Either way, I want to thank you for your support, and for taking the time to even read this. Even if you cant contribute, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD! I am a simple man with a simple goal...I DONT want to be a rockstar or famous, I just want to share my music with as many people as possible.
