Time out from typhoon update. I took these pictures on top of the Iloilo City hall this afternoon. One could imagine the Iloilo River years ago and we can still remember the garbage and the dilapidated ships moored at the port. Now Iloilo River is the RIVER OF LIFE. It is now the symbol of the resurgence of Iloilo City to a great new heights Iloilo river is a finalist and almost bag the top award as the best river in the world the Thiess International River Prize. We came just one point short of bagging the top prize. Thiess International Riverprize is among the Worlds most prestigious awards. Iloilo City under the leadership of Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog , the all out support of Senate Pres Franklin Drilon , Cong Jerry Trenas, and in partnership with different govt and private institutions has transformed Iloilo River from what it once was , an almost dead and sewer like river to a RIVER OF LIFE.
