Time to complete my Christy White-inspired Weekly Update, so I can - TopicsExpress

Time to complete my Christy White-inspired Weekly Update, so I can get off the social media for the duration of my time off. Here goes nothin. 1. It looks like my 15 minutes of Internet fame are about up. Nobody is happier about that than I am. I appreciate the support, and Ive enjoyed the debates. But its time to go back into the shadows, where I belong. The offers sent my way to raise my public profile, based on a single FB rant, will all be respectfully declined. Thanks all the same. 2. Ive said all I have to say about Ferguson. Theres no more I can add, and I can only say Let the investigation run its course or explain a Deadly Force Encounter so many times. So, Im done. When the investigation is done, Ill chime in again. 3. The death of Robin Williams has left a huge hole in contemporary American comedy. One of the best memories of my life is watching him perform at the Fox Theater in the mid 80s. I left the show with my jaw and stomach aching from all the laughter. What an amazing night. Like so many others, I will miss that delightful madman. 4. If Robins passing does any good, I hope it raises peoples awareness about Depression and mental illness. Depressed people cant just snap out of it any more than someone with a broken leg can just heal. Its just easier to see the broken leg. Keep an eye out for your friends and loved ones, and get them the help that they need when they need it. 5. I cant decide if Gene Simmons is an idiot or a genius. His comments about people dealing with Depression were among the most moronic things Ive ever heard. On the other hand, Gene Simmons actually got me to spend more than two seconds thinking and talking about him. And maybe that was his goal to begin with. 6. Ive been exploring the music of David Bowie this week. As much as I appreciate the classic songs, I am most enamored with his modern-day material. He just decided to drop all the alter-egos and sing great songs. And thats what I enjoy the most. 7. My writing fell victim to obvious distraction this week. So Im gonna shut everything off tomorrow (except the music, of course) and focus on it again. The rest of the world will get along just fine without me. 8. Nobody makes a brain-dead action movie like Michael Bay. God bless his ability to distract me from reality. 9. My return to playing music is inching its way back toward reality. 10. If I can do anything with my last minute of fame, Id like to do an Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS. Im sure my daughter would help me. And ... 11. On my last day on the Job, I will answer all calls on the radio in the voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger. What are they gonna do, fire me? Im outta here. See you in a few days.
