Time to get the leaven out of the house! That is what Yahushua - TopicsExpress

Time to get the leaven out of the house! That is what Yahushua (Jesus) was doing when He flipped over the money changers tables in His Fathers House (Temple) right before Passover. He was fulfilling the law (clarifying its true meaning) in Exodus 12:15. Leaven represents sin. As we remove leaven from our houses by Passover, let us also examine our temple - the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). The money changers were sinning! It took many days for people to travel to Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread. They would bring the best animal from their flock (without blemish) as a sacrifice to YHWH. But the corrupt money changers would reject the animal, which forced people to purchase an animal from the Temple at a skyrocket rate (because they would miss Passover if they traveled back home to choose a different animal from their flock). To purchase an animal from the Temple, people would have to forfeit their rejected animal as well as some valuables. Then the money changers would turn around and sell the rejected animal to someone else. This is why Yahushua flipped over the money changers tables. John 2:13-15 And the PASSOVER of the Yehudim was drawing near, and Yeshua went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the Temple those who were selling oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting. And having made a whip of chords, He drove them all out of the Temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the moneychangers coins and overturned the tables. Exodus 12:15 Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread; by the first day you shall remove yeast from your houses, for whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
