Time to head toward the bed. Funeral for Bud Day tomorrow. Local - TopicsExpress

Time to head toward the bed. Funeral for Bud Day tomorrow. Local attorney as well most decorated air force member of all times. He spent 35 years in the air force; five and a half of those years as a POW. He is the person who is responsible for the passage of Tricare for the military not because he needed government health care assistance; but, because he appreciated and supported members of the military and their families who supported him and our country. Even though he suffered from what he knew was terminal cancer, Col. Day attended local church services here the Sunday before he passed away. Refusing to be taken from his car into the church in a wheelchair, he walked from the parking lot into to enter the church where he sat at the back to worship that last Sunday of his life. He was often approached and asked for an autograph and was usually glad to oblige except during church attendance. That time was reserved to honor our Lord. John McCain, a fellow airman, who shared a cell with him as a POW in Vietnam is expected to be here and to speak at the funeral. The funeral is being conducted at the civic center in FWB. Pat, this has really brought back memories of Jerry Sage, his experiences as a POW and how much he appreciated and wanted to keep giving back even as he knew cancer was claiming his life. Such a blessing to have the experience of knowing people like this. Be in prayer for Doris and the family as they go through tomorrow.
