Time to once more revel in seeing something the people involved - TopicsExpress

Time to once more revel in seeing something the people involved would rather have left buried, its another Recycle Bin Rescue here on Throwback Sunday! This time, weve got a film I had no involvement in whatsoever, besides being creepily obsessed with hoarding footage that other people are going to be massively embarrassed by. The rushes footage for a fellow Media students project was left on the hard drive of the schools edit suite where any crazy person could have copied it. Which I did. And its (un)fortunate I did, because not only did basically no-one but me bother to keep copies of their own projects, but the edit suite had its hard drives wiped a year or so later, so were it not for me this footage would not exist. Whether thats a good or a bad thing I leave up to you. Originally Tom Evers-King (who now fronts one of the best local metal bands in Plymouth history, Violent Virtues https://facebook/pages/Violent-Virtues/85262379834) was trying to make a Jackass clone, but ended up abandoning it for unknown reasons, and shooting a basic commercial like most of the students did instead (in this case for a fake soda called Dream, which sounds like a product title the contestants on The Apprentice would come up with). When the rushes footage for the Jackass clone, the advert and running around Toms form room shoving the camera in peoples faces turned up while I was messing around making my own project, obviously I couldnt resist taking a copy. Now, finally, Ive put it together into a final product. It took two sessions of several hours each to edit it, and frankly it was probably more effort than the content was worth. Ive trimmed and ordered everything, made sure all the titles and music look and sound like Jackass, took the worst edges of the crappy audio off with some volume leveling, came up with a title (the rushes file was just titled Tom - Jackass + Advert + Form), and found ways to work in both the Dream advert and the walk around pointing my camera at people footage. So, for whatever its worth, I present to you the film that shouldnt exist: Jackarse.
