Time to open for questions! What an unbelievable month weve had here at Little Rock Air Force Base! Its been an extremely busy time, and weve faced several challenges, but youve accomplished amazing things. On April 21st, we had our first major 19 AW exercise of the year. Working with our partners, we tested the wings readiness posture and confirmed our ability to complete our mission. Then one week later, the Central Arkansas region was devastated by a tornado and we lost one of our own in the 189 AW. LRAFB served as an initial operating location for FEMA, and we rallied to support our neighbors, friends, and Airmen through donations and volunteer efforts. On May 7th, we served as a staging base for President Barack Obamas visit to Arkansas. Team Little Rocks professionalism was evident and enabled the President to support families and local authorities dealing with the tornado aftermath. This was a no-fail mission and your behind-the-scenes efforts made his stopover seamless. The same day General Robin Rand, Commander of AETC, his wife, Mrs. Kim Rand, and Chief Master Sergeant Gerardo Tapia, Command Chief Master Sergeant of AETC, visited our base for the first time to see the integration between the 314 AW and the 189 AW. Last Thursday, Lieutenant General Brooks Bash, Vice Commander of AMC, delivered a brand new C-130J, adding to our fleet of state-of-the-art mobility aircraft. Also during this time, we had a Family Fest, SAPR Day, and Military Spouse Appreciation Day. Lastly, we welcomed Chief Master Sergeant Rhonda Buening as the new 19 AW Command Chief and Col Robert Ator as the new 189 AW Commander, and also saw senior leadership command changes at USTRANSCOM , AMC, and 18th AF. During all of this, you kept the C-130 combat airlift mission going. Right now, there are about 250 Team Little Rock Airmen deployed around the globe supporting wartime and contingency operations.
