Timeline #4 January 1979 - October 1980 So time moves on, and I am quietly living my life. Still had to go talk to The Buffoons every couple of weeks. I am thrilled to be living off base. Got the word The Ass monkey had been transferred. Asked my CO again for discharge, and was laughed at AGAIN. Was told I was not to discuss the incident ever again except with THE BUFFOONS. Not to her family, friends etc. I have to give credit where credit is due. The USMC was very diligent and professional to sweep this under the rug. I assumed that all the barracks marine had been warned as well. I have never been treated so callously, coldly and made to feel useless. So October rolled around and my CO went on leave. The acting CO called me into his office. He asked if I really wanted a discharge, and hell yes was my response. Apparently, he was aware of all my antics, and the CO s numerous adamant refusals. So I started my phasing out, which usually takes a week to ten days. I was out of the USMC in 5 days! I did receive an honorable discharge, with expeditious circumstances. And a re-enlistment assignment of NO THANK YOU. I love this man! I wish I could remember his name. HUNG out in so cal for a couple of years, learning to surf, enjoying the beach bum life. I had a great job that payed well. Life was looking up. Had a big bonfire on the beach to burn all my uniforms and anything else that had to do with the USMC. Big celebration! Then treated my friends to Magic Mountain. Somehow I had ended up with a huge wad of cash upon discharge. I dont know, but I wasnt going to ask any questions. Moved to Oklahoma to help my mother run a club out in Podunk, because the oil boom hit and hit hard. Made a lot of money, got into a lot of bar fights, and generally was wasted at the end of the night. More to come. Comments and/or questions are encouraged.
