Timeshare Relief companies, also known as Liquidation companies are hurting our business. Why? Because our clients, who are legitimate licensed real estate brokers/agents, open transactions with us to escrow once a Buyer is matched with a Seller. They never even get the listing when a timeshare owner PAYS a relief company, sometimes thousands of dollars to take it off their hands under the premise that it isnt worth anything. Low and behold, the unit turns out to actually have value (does that mean theyve been lied to?), which is why the liquidation companies try to resell them as quickly as possible to get out of maintenance fee obligations - increasing their profit margin all the more. So who do my broker clients go to for the cheapest inventory for their Buyers? The liquidation companies, of course, forced by a down market and savvy Buyers who are out researching prices online. And does Quality get to close those transactions for our clients? NO. They conveniently have their own in-house closing company which happens to also charge very high fees (we are only $300.00 per closing), and are REQUIRED to send the deal in-house or to their referral company. THEREFORE, WE ARE NOT FANS OF THESE RELIEF COMPANIES. They are harming our industry in so many ways as timeshare owners are paying these high fees to get out, and the relief companies are not always paying their maintenance fees, causing timeshare resorts to go into bankruptcy in many cases. They pop up, and go out of business just as fast, only to reemerge under a new name, before the BBB rating can go down. Many consider themselves a legitimate option providing a valuable service, but we can see through this to the GREED and DECEPTION, preying on gullible often elderly folks who are no longer using the units and just want the fastest way out. What can you do? Refer timeshare owners to us - we will put them in touch with reputable licensed brokers who can LIST and SELL the unit, NO FEES ARE PAID BY SELLERS UP-FRONT, and I get to handle the closing, to ensure it is DONE RIGHT - WIN-WIN!
