Timon Glover - 16 months on............ Who ever said that patience, hard work, understanding and having good people and dogs to help was the only way to improve a dogs behaviour was utterly right... Oh yeah it was me that said that :). So it might have taken me and my lovely visitors 16 months, but I think we are finally winning with little Timon. He is so much more comfortable around visitors even those he doesnt know that well. A year ago he had to be kept a good distance away from the visitor and despite this distance he still struggled with being in the same room as them, a year on, after a couple of sessions, he is now taking food from the visitors hand. To those of you that have just started on your dogs journey of behavioural improvement, hang in there, put in the effort, stick to the behaviour plan making sure you dont miss anything out, have patience and put yourself in your dogs paws as much as you can (if you try to see it from your dogs point of view you will stop becoming annoyed when things go wrong), it does get better. And for those of you who have been going the same length of time or indeed longer than I have, well done you deserve every little success you have achieved. Onwards and upwards we go :).
