Tina Minkowitz 2 hrs(from group Stop the Murphy Bill)- reading the summary of the murphy bill (by murphy) - as i havent had time to read the entire bill - yes, it does incentivize IOC through making it a condition of block grants to states. it also would encourage mental health courts to use it. and it similarly incentivizes a need for treatment criterion for inpatient commitment statutes through the block grant program. in general the bill can be characterized as comprehensively establishing a biomedical coercive approach throughout U.S. mental health policy and services, to the exclusion of any programs that challenge this approach or deviate from it. the barber bill is softer but continues more or less the status quo, in which biomedical coercive approach is still dominant. racism + disability discrimination = one big package of eugenics. people dont like to be reminded of nazis but it has never gone away and whats happening now is very much in that direction as american society cannibalizes itself. or rather the rich cannibalize the poor and everyone they can push down into poverty. ______________________________________________________ Is there a way for people to protect themselves from possible IOT orders through a medical/mental health advance directive specifically objecting to psychiatric treatment/evaluation (based on personal or religious beliefs, &/or experiences..)??
