Tiny Tim update! He was with the rescue team today for a vet check and he had his stitches out. All is healing very well. Tiny Tim was able to also participate in a radio show one of the owners of Alsip Home & Nursery participates in. Rich Christakes, CEO, wanted to help spread the word about special needs dogs and what Alsip To The Rescue is doing for Tiny Tim and other special needs dogs. Tiny Tim will need a cart to help him get around for the rest of his life, however that in no way slows him down. He plays with the other dogs in his foster home and even harasses the resident cat. Special needs dogs may need help with expressing their bladders and will need long term chiropractic and or water therapy to help with back and hip issues. Tiny Tims life has only gotten better since we pulled him from CACC. He is in a loving repeat foster home of ATTR. Our Vets performed surgery on one of his hips to try and strengthen one leg that has some feeling in it. We also amputated the part of his tail that was rotting. We are working with some other organizations to obtain a custom cart for him and to possibly help with his long term therapy that will be needed. bialyswellnessfoundation.org is working to raise additional money to purchase a custom cart from Eddies Wheels. We have a $1500 vet bill for Tiny Tim and $1500 for Piper another rescue that we amputated a deformed leg, $1000 for Norbert who needed to have surgery on both his back legs for luxiating patellas. We also have 3 dogs we are treating for heartworm. We have come to a point where we are not able to help some dogs still in shelters with medical issues until we raise money to cover the costs of the dogs we have already saved. Please visit our You Caring fundraisers we have for all these dogs. The link to Tiny Tims is https://youcaring/adoption-fundraiser/tiny-tim-needs-our-help-/287617. We are thankful for $560 we have raised for Tiny Tim but really need the entire $1500. Please tag and share his story and tell everyone you know that ATTR needs help to be able to continue to help the rescue!
