Tip of the Day: Want to eat sugary foods? Go for it, just remember that they shouldnt make up the bulk of your diet. As part of a calorie-balanced, macronutrient-controlled diet, composed of a wide variety of nutrient-dense foods, eating some sugar will have no detrimental effects over eating little to no sugar. The main issue with high-sugar diets is eating sugar at the expense of fibre and nutrients. Hit your macros and a decent fibre goal (10-15g per 1,000 calories) though and sugar will do you no harm at all. Many people get freaked out over eating sugar, and while it is generally nutrient-void, that doesnt make it bad. Likewise if youre getting all your carbs from Frosties and Pop Tarts, and maybe just using a fibre supplement to scrape by your minimum intake, youre probably not going to be in the best place. Once again, a middle ground approach wins out. Do I get the award for most flexible dieting buzzwords used in one post?
