Tip of the day: For load development and testing, you should keep and archive your targets for reference. The easiest way is to use 8.5 x 11 heavy bond paper or card stock and print your own targets from your computer at home. The card stock will show nice clean holes with little tearing, and can be 3-hole punched to go in a binder. Organize targets by caliber or bullet type using report section tabs. This method saves a lot of time over plotting every zero or close-range group in a log book, and provides fast, easy, target reference and comparisons. It is also easy to set up a master data sheet (in Excel) to put in each section to track chronograph data. Place dates inclusive on the spine of the binder, and archive the binders on your loading room shelf. This method has served me well in plotting over 42,000 rounds of testing over the last 21 years. If you lose your work, it didnt happen!
