Tips for capturing the blood moon tonight: In order to photograph the blood moon without camera shake, a tripod will be extremely handy to allow the use of a slow shutter speed. Bear in mind, however, the Moon will move through the sky as it orbits the rotating Earth, so if the shutter is open for too long the Moon will blur. If the camera has manual control, use a combination of wide aperture (low number) and high ISO sensitivity to maximise the light. Regardless of the camera being used - whether it be a digital SLR or a smartphone - keeping the camera still using a tripod will dramatically improve results.
